Diagnostic Assessment

Our treatment process begins with a Diagnostic Assessment; a comprehensive clinical interview that categorizes psychosocial data and contains information supporting a mental health diagnosis. DAs are completed at intake by licensed clinicians, and typically accompany the updating and/or creation of treatment plans and crisis plans.

Medication Somatic & Psychotherapy

Somatic treatment/psychotherapy, referrs to a holistic therapeutic approach, incorporates a person’s mind, body, spirit, and emotions in the healing process.

Proponents of this type of therapy believe a person’s thoughts, attitudes, feelings, and beliefs can have an impact on physical functioning, while physical factors such as diet, exercise, and posture may positively or negatively affect a person’s mental and emotional state.

Thus, those seeking treatment for any number of mental health concerns may incorporating somatic therapy into treatment to be beneficial.

Counseling

Mental health counseling, or psychotherapy, is something many people wonder about. It’s a concept that, until one begins, seems hard to fully grasp.

It’s not uncommon for people to associate counseling with the proverbial couch, with the client lying on this piece of furniture and spilling their guts while a counselor, who may or may not look like Sigmund Freud, furiously takes detailed notes on a pad of paper.

This process is called psychoanalysis and is rarely practiced in the twenty-first century (but mental health counselors typically do take some notes to increase understanding). If this picture is outdated, how does clinical mental health counseling really work?

Community Support Services

Mental health heavily influences our quality of life. So it makes sense that mental health, just like physical health, needs to be taken care of and maintained. And one way that it can be maintained is through finding a sense of community.

Community can be defined in many ways, but when simplified down to its most important element, community is all about connection. Community is not just an entity or a group of people, it’s a feeling. It’s feeling connected to others, feeling accepted for who you are and feeling supported. Having connection can help us feel wanted and loved.

Family Counseling

The family therapy track has two groups that encourage consumers to develop insight into their current relationships with family members and provide guidance in establishing more balanced and supportive patterns of interactions moving forward.
